Men's World Cup ski races in Val d'Isere cancelled

VAL D'ISERE, France (AP) The men's World Cup giant slalom and slalom races scheduled in Val d'Isere next week have been cancelled due to a lack of snow in the French Alps.

The International Ski Federation said the warm temperatures in the resort were also a concern, and it was looking for an alternative venue.

The races were scheduled for Dec. 13-14.

A decision regarding the possible cancellation of the women's races scheduled for the same weekend in the French Alps resort of Courchevel is expected later Friday.
