SANTA CATERINA, Italy (AP) Snowfall causing poor visibility forced officials to call off the second and final training session for a men's World Cup downhill on the Deborah Compagnoni course on Saturday.

Organizers lowered the start gate and delayed the session for 75 minutes before canceling it as weather conditions failed to improve.

Germany's Josef Ferstl posted the fastest time in Friday's first training on the 3.275-kilometer course, a modified version of the piste used for the women's downhill at the 2005 world championships.

Sunday's race is the final event of the men's World Cup in 2014. The event replaces the traditional downhill on the Stelvio piste in nearby Bormio, which has pulled out of the World Cup.
