BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (AP) The last race of the two-week world championships is the men's slalom on Sunday.

CHASING TOMBA

The last man to win giant slalom and slalom title at the same world championships was Alberto Tomba in 1996. American Ted Ligety could match that after winning the giant slalom on Friday.

2013 WORLDS SLALOM MEDALISTS

Gold, Marcel Hirscher, Austria. Silver, Felix Neureuther, Germany. Bronze, Mario Matt, Austria.

THE FAVORITES

Hirscher: Finished in the top three of five World Cup slalom races this season. Already won gold at these worlds in Alpine combined and in the team event. Finished runner-up in giant slalom.

Matt: The 2014 Olympic gold medalist from Sochi in the discipline. A recent training crash bruised his right ankle. He's ''getting better every day'' and plans to race.

Neureuther: Finished just off the podium in fourth during the giant slalom Friday. He leads the World Cup slalom standings this season.

DON'T FORGET

Alexander Khoroshilov, Russia: Won a World Cup slalom event in Austria on Jan. 27. Also finished third in a World Cup race at Sweden in December.

Victor Muffat-Jeandet, France: Keeps getting better and better in the slalom this season; has the speed to make a podium run.

QUOTABLE

''It's not easy. It was, of course, a tough fight training and racing at this altitude - it takes a lot of energy. It's basically part of the game.'' - Marcel Hirscher on winning three medals so far at Beaver Creek worlds.
