Swiss skier Suter out with torn muscle, misses Zauchensee

ALTENMARKT-ZAUCHENSEE, Austria (AP) Swiss skier Fabienne Suter will miss the women's World Cup speed races this weekend after tearing a muscle just above her left knee in a training run.

The Swiss ski federation says Suter, who shares the lead in the downhill standings with Lindsey Vonn, will be out for an indefinite time after picking up the injury during giant slalom practice on Monday. She has had left knee injuries before.

Zauchensee hosts a two-run sprint downhill Saturday, followed by a super-G the next day. The races have been moved from another Austrian resort, St. Anton, because of a lack of snow.
