Khoroshilov holds slim lead in WCup slalom after 1st run

SANTA CATERINA VALFURVA, Italy (AP) Marcel Hirscher posted the fastest second-run time to beat Norwegian rival Henrik Kristoffersen and win a men's World Cup slalom on Wednesday.

Hirscher, who was third after the opening run, finished in a combined time of 1 minute, 54.54 seconds to lead Kristoffersen by 0.21. It was the Austrian's 36th career win.

Kristoffersen, who beat the Austrian to win both previous slaloms this season, remained in the lead of the discipline standings.

Hirscher went top of the overall standings again, leading Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway by 85 points. Svindal doesn't compete in slaloms.

First-run leader Aleksander Khoroshilov dropped to third for his fourth career World Cup podium.
