Suter and Gut go 1-2 in downhill training; Vonn 5th

CRANS MONTANA, Switzerland (AP) Swiss skiers Fabienne Suter and Lara Gut went 1-2 in World Cup downhill training while overall leader Lindsey Vonn was fifth on Friday.

Suter led Gut by 0.08 seconds on the Mont Lachaux course with Laurenne Ross of the United States third, 0.09 behind.

Vonn was 0.30 back.

In the overall, Vonn holds an 87-point lead over Gut, who led Thursday's opening training session.

The downhill race is scheduled for Saturday with an Alpine combined event on Sunday, and a slalom on Monday that was moved from Maribor, Slovenia.

Vonn has won five of the six downhills this season and can clinch the season-long title in the discipline this weekend. The American holds a 172-point lead over Larisa Yurkiw of Canada in the downhill standings with only two races remaining after this weekend.
