Stanford's Williams wins Texas Relays decathlon

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Stanford's Harrison Williams held on to his first-day lead to win the decathlon Thursday at the Texas Relays after finishing first in two more events.

Williams won the 110 meter hurdles and the pole vault to take the overall crown with 7,832 points. He won four of the 10 events over two days.

Arkansas' Taliyah Brooks won the heptathlon, edging teammate Payton Stumbaugh by six points. Brooks finished with 5,591 points.

Texas Tech's Evans Tuitoek won the men's 1,500 in 3 minutes, 49.76 seconds. Abilene Christian's Alexandria Hackett won the women's 5,000 in 16:19.56.
