London Knights advance to Memorial Cup title game

RED DEER, Alberta (AP) The London Knights advanced to the championship game of the Memorial Cup junior tournament after beating the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-2 on Tuesday.

Matthew Tkachuk scored two goals. JJ Piccinich, Christian Dvorak and Max Jones also scored for the Knights (3-0) of the Ontario Hockey League. Mitch Marner added four assists and leads the tournament with 13 points in three games.

Timo Meier scored twice for the Huskies (1-2) of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Tyler Parsons made 30 saves for the win. Chase Marchand stopped 20 of 24 shots for Rouyn-Noranda.

The host Red Deer Rebels will face the Western Hockey League champion Brandon Wheat Kings to wrap up round-robin play at the tournament.

The tournament record for points is 16, set in 1982 by Jeff Larmer and matched in 1986 by Guy Rouleau.
