Reed Deer beats Brandon 2-1 in OT in Memorial Cup

RED DEER, Alberta (AP) Evan Polei scored at 3:50 of overtime to give the host Red Deer Rebels a 2-1 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday night in the Memorial Cup junior hockey tournament.

Red Deer will face the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Friday night in the semifinal, with the winner advancing to play the Ontario Hockey League chamion London Knights in the title game Sunday.

Adam Musil tied it for the Rebels with 5:05 left in the third, and Rylan Toth made 33 saves.

Tim McGauley scored for the Western Hockey League champion Wheat Kings. Jordan Papirny stopped 30 shots.
