JERUSALEM (AP) A Palestinian soccer team's players have posed for a photograph with a banner praising the Palestinian attacker behind this week's deadly shooting in Jerusalem and calling him a ''martyr'' and a ''hero.''

The attacker killed two Israelis before Israeli forces killed him.

Tamer Obaidat, spokesman for the West Bank Premier League team Hilal Al Quds, said on Thursday that members of the team's fan club brought the banner to the team members, took the photo and posted it on a fan-run Facebook page.

He says fans were angry about the Palestinian's death but that they would remove the photo because it contradicted the rules of soccer's global governing body, FIFA.

Palestinian authorities are currently lobbying FIFA to declare Israeli teams in the West Bank settlements as illegal.
