San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested for suspicion of DUI and possession of marijuana early Friday morning after being involved in an accident, the Santa Clara County, Calif. Sheriff's Department said.

Smith was determined to be the driver in a single-vehicle accident, which happened at 7 a.m. No one was injured in the accident and Smith was booked into the Santa Clara County jail.

Smith was also arrested in January of 2012 for DUI in Miami and could face punishment from the league.

Earlier this month, Smith was named in a lawsuit in which a man claimed that Smith and former teammate Delanie Walker repeatedly and illegally fired weapons on numerous occasions during a June 2012 party.
