The Ducks aren't just playing for a trip to the Western Conference final in their second-round series against the Kings. They're battling for state bragging rights, especially in SoCal.

Anaheim center Nick Bonino sent a message to his rivals during a press conference on Monday by wearing a hat that read "We Own California" preceding Game 2 on the Ducks' home ice at the Honda Center. Lance Pugmire of The Los Angeles Times tweeted the photo.

Bonino, who scored in overtime to give the Ducks a first-round series win over the Stars in Game 6, is a 26-year-old from Connecticut who played at Boston University. But he's moved his civic pride across the country after five seasons with the Ducks.

What Bonino said with his mouth mirrored the sentiments on his hat:

"We watched some video today and we're confident we can come out and beat these guys."
Game on, SoCal.
