Australian Newlyweds Wanted to Go to the World Cup, But Booked the Wrong Flight and Ended Up in El Salvador
Salvador, El Salvador -- what's the difference?
Australian newlyweds Orin and Melissa van Lingen embarked on a cross-country flight headed for what they believed was Salvador, Brazil, for Friday's Netherlands/Spain World Cup match.
Instead, they stepped off the plane in El Salvador. Apparently their travel agent made an error. Who knew there were direct flights from Australia to El Salvador?
Salvador, Brazil, is known as the capital of happiness because of its outdoor street parties and carnivals. El Salvador? Not so much.
Luckily for the couple, they are back on a flight — which is 15 hours after they've already traveled halfway around the world — en route to the World Cup.
Godspeed, van Lingens.
