The University of Maryland football team will recognize the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore with alternate uniforms when it takes on West Virginia on Saturday.

The battle is best known for inspiring the poem "The Defence of Fort McHenry," which became the lyrics for "The Star-Spangled Banner." The words of the poem are written across the helmet, sleeves of the jersey and on cleats.

The helmet also features an outline of Baltimore's Fort McHenry that has been filled in with the stars and stripes.
