Like many college football programs, Notre Dame holds summer camps so young fans can come out to learn the game from the players and coaches that they cheer for on Saturdays.

What Notre Dame was not anticipating was that one of the campers would try to take out starting quarterback Malik Zaire with a wild pass.

Zaire thought he was in a secure position behind netting as a young camper let loose a pass ostensibly aimed at a trio of targets, but an unlucky bounce led to the junior taking a shot to the head.
