NFL Fun Day
The NFL was in full force on Sunday, and there were plenty of highlights for everyone. The early games featured a disputed catch by Golden Tate, which is only causing more confusion in the NFL, this ridiculous touchdown catch and stretch by the Bengals Marvin Jones, Jarvis Landry scoring a touchdown on this Statue of Liberty play, and this Kansas City Chiefs fan who loves to shake his belly. The afternoon games were highlighted by Aaron Rodgers becoming the fastest player in NFL history to 30,000 yards, a Pee Wee Herman dance by Steve Smith, Justin Tucker falling into a mini sinkhole at Levi's Stadium and Cam Newton coming up huge against the Seahawks. The final game of the day, between the Patriots and Colts, produced one amazing low-light, which could go down as the single worst trick-play attempt of all time. Seriously, who designed that play?
Apple Bandage
After the Mets beat the Cubs in Game 1 of the NLCS, they tended to their 'Apple' in centerfield because it had been hit by Travis d'Arnaud's 431-foot homer. As for Game 2 on Sunday, Curtis Granderson owned the best highlight of the night by robbing Chicago of this would-be home run.
Jumpin' the Gun
A reporter right outside Michigan Stadium erroneously stated that Michigan beat Michigan State after Michigan State won on the final play.
