Yoenis Cespedes will eat his $7,000 pig
Wednesday March 2nd, 2016

Yoenis Cespedes bought a $7,000 pig at a Florida county fair over the weekend, and he plans to eat it.

According to multiple reports, Cespedes has sent his prize-winning hog to the butcher. As many know from his MLB showcase video, Cespedes enjoys roasted pork:

• Five even crazier cars for Yoenis Cespedes to drive to spring training

No one knows what’s next for Yo, but we now know what’s next for his hog.

RIPig.

UPDATE (5:53 p.m. ET): The Mets have released an official pig statement, saying that it is against the law to keep a pig as a pet.

The animal can’t be taken home as a pet. There is some sort of state law here in Florida that a hog bought at auction must be slaughtered. So, it's not really Yoenis’ decision. It just the rule. The pig is not a pet.
