Late last week, Johnny Manziel’s father Paul had some tough words for his son.
“He’s a druggie. It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie,” Paul Manziel told ESPN. “I don’t know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help. He just hasn’t [sought] it yet. Hopefully he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses. That’s about all you can say. I don’t know what else to say.
“I hate to say it but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him. So we’ll see.”
Johnny, who was spotted on a plane earlier this week, responded to his father Tuesday with an Instagram post from Cabo San Lucas, referencing the druggie comments with a “#hiDad” in his photo caption. The post shows Manziel in Cabo wearing the jersey of his former teammate Josh Gordon:
The off-field incidents have not slowed down for Manziel since his release from the Browns. Earlier this week, Manziel’s attorney in his domestic assault case removed himself from the case after accidentally texting an Associated Press reporter that Manziel spent over $1,000 on drug paraphernalia 15 hours after a hit-and-run accident.
