Watch: Matt Moore told he was traded while playing outfield football

Matt Moore was tossing a football around in the Rays outfield when he found out he was moving 2,900 miles away to San Francisco.

Matt Moore has joined the Giants on the quest to continue their even-year World Series streak, leaving behind the Rays, who received Matt Duffy and prospect Lucius Fox in exchange for the left-hander.

The 27-year-old pitcher was still a member of the Rays when he headed out to Tropicana Field to toss around the pigskin, but his game of catch was interrupted by a team executive who let him know he was headed to San Francisco.

Moore seems to have a pretty muted reaction to being traded from the only Major League Baseball team he has ever known, but it is possible he is just panicking as he remembers that the stadium cameras have caught him running around in a bandana.

In addition to Moore, the Giants added another lefty in reliever Will Smith, who came to town from the Brewers in exchange for two minor league prospects.

Moore's you've-been-traded moment wasn't the only one caught on camera Monday as Grant Holmes was photographed reading his trade while riding a team bus.
