Indy leaguer breaks his own windshield with a grand slam

When you’re trying to make a name for yourself in baseball’s independent leagues, hitting a home run is usually a good thing, but not for Brandon Thomas.
The Gateway Grizzlies outfielder smashed a grand slam in Sunday’s Frontier League game, a homer that sailed far over the fence and into the adjacent parking lot, where it obliterated his windshield.
That’s bad news when you’re playing for an independent league salary.
Can't make this up. @brandonthomas6 hit a grand slam tonight that smashed a windshield. That's his own truck. pic.twitter.com/B1ZqFUyfSe

Considering how far beyond the fence the parking lot is, that’s a pretty impressive shot. Just another foot and it would have spared his car, though.
