Taylor Lewan Clarifies Viral Photo of How Titans Left His Belongings

Earlier this week, offensive lineman Taylor Lewan shared a rather disheartening-looking photo of how the Titans had supposedly dropped off his belongings outside his front door after releasing him last Wednesday. The post led to plenty of discussion online about how the manner in which Lewan’s possessions were delivered to him was a disrespectful move by the organization.

However, the three-time Pro Bowl felt the need to clarify his viral photo, stating that everyone on social media was “overreacting” to the situation.

“I’m making a video to the people on Twitter and on social media, letting them know that everyone’s overreacting to the trash bags that the Titans left on my front door. I asked them to do it,” Lewan said in a video posted to Twitter Wednesday. “Yeah it’s in trash bags, who cares? What does it need to be in like a horse-drawn chariot, a gold chariot that they ride up in and say ‘Thanks for the last nine years?’”

Lewan continued, saying that the Titans treated him “amazing” during his time in Tennessee and that everything was “all good” between him and the franchise.

Lewan, who was selected by the Titans in the first round of the 2014 draft, made 100 starts over nine seasons for the franchise and earned three consecutive Pro Bowl nods from ’16 to ’18. However, injuries plagued him in recent years as he’d played in just 20 games since the start of the ’20 NFL season, which included just two appearances during the ’22 campaign.
