The New York Yankees plan to place Andy Pettitte on the disabled list with a Grade 1 groin strain. While the injury is not considered serious at all, the Yankees are expected to take the cautious route.

Meanwhile, the Yankees do not believe A.J. Burnett will miss a start after he accidentally cut his hand hitting the clubhouse door in Saturday's game.

The candidates to replace Pettitte in the rotation are Sergio Mitre, Dustin Moseley and prospect Ivan Nova.

The Yankees may look at starters on the market but remain more interested in bullpen help and a bat.
