The Rangers moved to bolster their already-potent offense Tuesday when the club sent former closer Frank Francisco to the Blue Jays for power-hitting catcher Mike Napoli, SI.com has learned.

Napoli, who was traded late last week to the Blue Jays in a package that saw outfielder Vernon Wells sent to the Los Angeles Angels, hit 26 home runs last season, marking the fourth consecutive year the 29-year-old backstop has hit at least 20 homers.

Francisco heads to Toronto after six seasons in Texas, where he saved a total of 49 games and recorded 315 strikeouts in 283.1 inning pitched.

Foxsports.com first reported the possibility of the trade.
