Riggleman to interview with Giants

Giants manager Bruce Bochy and GM Brian Sabean have reached out to Jim Riggleman about a job opportunity with the club.

Riggleman is going to San Francisco for a job interview after the All-Star break.

He had abruptly resigned as manager of the Nationals on June 23 because the club would not discuss picking up his option for the 2012 season. The 58-year-old skipper owns a career 662-824 record with four teams.

Riggleman's first managerial post was with the Padres from 1992-1994. Riggleman was succeded in San Diego by his third-base coach Bochy, who guided the club for 12 seasons.
