Orioles place Bud Norris on DL with groin injury
The Baltimore Orioles placed pitcher Bud Norris on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain, the team announced Friday.
The move is retroactive to June 22.
The team recalled right handers Evan Meek and Kevin Gausman from Triple-A Norfolk to replace Norris on the roster.
Norris left his start last Saturday, a 6-1 win over the New York Yankees, after five innings when he felt tightness in his groin after throwing a fastball.
After throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday, Norris was scratched from his scheduled Friday start.
Norris (7-5) has won his last four starts, and has a 3.62 ERA to go along with 60 strikeouts and a 1.16 WHIP this season for the Orioles, who come into this weekend's series against the Tampa Bay Rays two games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East.
