2 fans hit in face by foul balls at Marlins game
MIAMI (AP) A female spectator hit by a foul ball at the Marlins-Athletics game has been taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The woman and another fan were both hit in the face by the ball, causing a 10-minute delay in play Sunday.
The foul off the bat of Oakland's Nick Punto struck a woman sitting in the first row along the right-field line, then caromed and hit a man nearby.
The woman was conscious when she was placed in a wheelchair on the field and taken along the warning track to an exit in the right field corner. The man received treatment at the ballpark and was released.
