Phillies place Cliff Lee on 15-day DL with left elbow strain
The Philadelphia Phillies placed pitcher Cliff Lee on the 15-day disabled list with a left flexor pronator strain, the team announced.
Left-handed pitcher Cesar Jimenez had his contract selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding roster move.
Lee left his start Thursday against the Washington Nationals in the bottom of the third inning after just 31 pitches. He motioned toward his elbow before leaving the field with a trainer.

The pitcher will be examined by a doctor Friday and will undergo further tests when the team returns home, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Lee is 4-5 with a 3.65 ERA for Philadelphia this season.
