Rockies activate Michael Cuddyer from disabled list

The Colorado Rockies have activated outfielder and first baseman Michael Cuddyer from the 15-day disabled list.

The Colorado Rockies have activated outfielder and first baseman Michael Cuddyer from the 15-day disabled list, the team announced Monday

Cuddyer was on the DL with a strained left hamstring, his third trip to the disabled list this season. The 35-year-old has played just 34 games in 2014.

The veteran won the National League batting title last season after hitting .331. In 130 at bats this season, he's hitting .331 with six home runs and 19 RBI. He hit for the cycle on Aug. 17. 

Cuddyer will hit cleanup for Colorado on Monday night against the Mets.

The Rockies are 59-84 and and tied with the Diamondbacks for last place in the NL West.
