STEPPING UP FOR MOM

Pink bats will be in style for Mother's Day from Angel Stadium to Tropicana Field to every ballpark in the bigs. This is the 10th year that Major League Baseball has partnered with Louisville Slugger to produce the special bats, which will be auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer charities. Chris Davis, Chris Carter and Adrian Gonzalez are among the sluggers who have homered swinging pink.

A FLURRY OF WINS

Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is set to start at Colorado, trying for the fourth time to earn his 100th regular-season win. His bid was delayed Saturday by the third rainout of the week at Coors Field. It's a daunting forecast in Denver: heavy snow during the morning.

HAVING A BLAST

Bryce Harper aims to extend his sizzling home-run streak when Washington wraps up its series vs. visiting Atlanta. Harper homered for the sixth time in three games Saturday, hitting a winning, two-run drive in the bottom of the ninth inning. Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner hit a record eight home runs in a four-game span in 1947.

PITCHING IN

Carl Willis joins the Red Sox as their new pitching coach. He takes over for the fired Juan Nieves, and inherits a staff that has an AL-worst 5.04 ERA. The former pitching coach for Cleveland and Seattle starts work with Boston in the series finale at Toronto.

TOP DOG

The Brewers are expecting a sellout crowd at Miller Park vs. the Cubs - it's Hank the Dog bobblehead day! He's the lovable pooch that captured the attention and hearts of many fans after he straggled into Milwaukee's spring training complex last year. Hank was taken in by team members and quickly became a local celebrity.

DON'T WALK THIS WAY

When Bartolo Colon starts for the Mets, there should be a flashing ''Don't Walk'' street sign for opposing batters. Colon has not walked anyone in 34 1-3 innings, and will try to stretch that string in Philadelphia.

MOVING UP

Texas outfielder Josh Hamilton is scheduled to join Triple-A Round Rock for its game at Nashville. The former AL MVP is coming back from surgery on his right shoulder and had been playing at the Rangers' extended spring training camp. They reacquired him from the Angels on April 27.
