HOUSTON (AP) Houston Astros outfielder George Springer has been activated from the concussion disabled list and is in the starting lineup against the San Francisco Giants.

Springer was injured when he crashed headfirst into a wall making a catch on May 5 against Texas. He singled as the designated hitter in a rehabilitation start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday night.

Also on Wednesday the Astros activated left-hander Brett Oberholtzer from the 15-day disabled list to make his first start of the season. Oberholtzer started the year on the disabled list because of a blister on his left index finger.

The Astros optioned reliever Kevin Chapman and outfielder Robbie Grossman to Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday night to clear room for Springer and Oberholtzer on the roster.
