PITTSBURGH (AP) Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen left Saturday's game against Atlanta after getting hit in the left elbow with a pitch.

McCutchen winced when a 92 mph fastball from Braves pitcher Julio Tehran smacked into the 2013 NL MVP's elbow. X-rays were negative and the team said McCutchen would be reevaluated on Sunday.

It was the 48th career hit-by-pitch for McCutchen and the eighth this season. Jung Ho Kang ran for McCutchen and the Pirates shuffled the defense in McCutchen's absence, moving Starling Marte to center, third baseman Josh Harrison to right and Gregory Polanco from right to left. Pittsburgh ripped off five runs after McCutchen's exit.

Pirates pitcher Charlie Morton hit Atlanta's Andrelton Simmons in the foot in the second inning, drawing a warning from home plate umpire John Tumpane.
