CLEVELAND (AP) The New York Yankees added left-hander Chris Capuano and right-hander Nick Goody from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday to help an overworked bullpen.

The team optioned right-hander Branden Pinder to Triple-A and designated outfielder Garrett Jones for assignment.

The Yankees used seven relievers in Tuesday night's 5-4, 16-inning defeat to Cleveland, with Pinder taking the loss.

Jones was also designated by the Yankees on July 31 but re-signed on Aug. 4. Jones didn't see action in six games after re-joining the team. He batted .215 with five homers and 17 RBIs in 57 games.

New York has lost four straight and leads Toronto by a half-game in the AL East. Leadoff hitter Jacoby Ellsbury, in a 4-for-45 slump, wasn't in Wednesday's starting lineup. Manager Joe Girardi said he wanted to give Ellsbury a day off.
