The Washington Nationals have called up shortstop Trea Turner from Triple A Syracuse and placed first baseman/outfielder Tyler Moore on the disabled list, the team announced Friday.

Turner, 22, was acquired by the Nationals from the San Diego Padres in June as part of the three-way Wil Myers trade. He was ranked the ninth-best prospect in the game by Baseball America and No. 12 overall by MLB.com.

Turner was selected with the No. 13 pick in the 2014 draft out of North Carolina State by San Diego. In 116 minor-league games this season across Double and Triple A, he has hit .322 with a .370 on-base percentage and a .458 slugging percentage.

Moore, who has a left ankle sprain, heads to the 15-day disabled list after hitting .200 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 22 RBIs for Washington this season.
