The Atlanta Braves have released outfielder Nick Swisher, the team announced Monday.

The 35-year-old Swisher is still owed $16 million for the 2016 season by Atlanta and Cleveland, which traded him to the Braves last year.

In just 76 games last season, Swisher batted .196 with six home runs and 25 RBIs. He was hampered by injuries over the past two seasons.

For his career, the veteran is a .249 hitter with 245 home runs and 803 RBIs.

Swisher was an All-Star in 2010 and World Series champion with the New York Yankees in 2009.
