The Dodgers have recalled pitching prospect Julio Urias and placed pitcher Alex Wood on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced Tuesday.

Wood was placed on the DL with left posterior elbow soreness, putting the Dodgers’ rotation in flux. Starter Kenta Maeda is currently dealing with a swollen hand and questionable for a Thursday start. The Dodgers face the Cubs in Chicago through Thursday before returning home for a three-game weekend series with the Braves.

Urias, 19 years old and perhaps the top pitching prospect in all of baseball, made his first start on Friday against the Mets, making it through just 2 2/3 innings and allowing five hits, three runs and four walks. The Dodgers sent him back to Triple A Oklahoma City the next day, bringing up reliever Casey Fien for bullpen help.

Urias is set to make his second start on Thursday in Chicago.

Wood is 1–4 with a 3.99 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 62 strikeouts in 10 starts this season. The MRI revealed that he will need approximately four weeks of rest for a posterior impingement in his elbow.

The Dodgers entered Wednesday at 28–25.
