The Atlanta Hawks re-signed power forward Elton Brand to a one-year, $2 million contract, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Brand, 35, averaged 5.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks for the Hawks last season, his first with the team.

After being the No. 1 pick in the 1999 draft, Brand played for the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks before joining the Hawks. He has career averages of 16.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

ROSENBERG: Hawks' Ferry should be out as GM

awks owner Bruce Levenson announced earlier this week he will sell the team due to a racially insensitive email from 2012. General manager Danny Ferry was also disciplined by the team for reading a racist comment about Luol Deng.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he doesn't think Ferry should be fired for his comments.
