The Atlanta Hawks announced that forward/center Pero Antic will miss several days after surgery to repair a broken nose, Jeff Zillgitt of USA Todayreported on Saturday morning.

Antic, entering his second year in the league, suffered the broken nose on Thursday during a training camp practice in Athens, Georgia and had surgery on Friday in Atlanta.

According to the team, Antic will miss Monday's preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans and "his status will be updated as appropriate."

Antic, a 6-foot-11 31-year-old from Macedonia, was a rookie last season for the Hawks. He played in 50 games, starting 26, and averaged 7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.5 minutes per game.

Atlanta finished last season 38-44 and garnered the eighth-seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, before bowing out to the Indiana Pacers in the first round.
