Hawks sign F Austin Daye to multiyear contract

ATLANTA (AP) The Atlanta Hawks have signed forward Austin Daye to a multiyear contract.

The team announced the deal on Saturday.

Daye previously signed two 10-days contracts with Atlanta. The 6-foot-11 Daye, who was selected by Detroit in the first round of the 2009 draft, is averaging 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds in five games with the Hawks.

Daye played in 26 games, including four starts, with San Antonio before he was waived by the Spurs on Jan. 17. He averaged a career-high 7.5 points with the Pistons in the 2010-11 season.
