LaMarcus Aldridge agrees to sign with Spurs
LaMarcus Aldridge has agreed to sign with the San Antonio Spurs, reports Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Aldridge later confirmed the agreement on Twitter.
Aldridge has agreed to a four-year, $80 million maximum contract, according to Wojnarowski. The fourth year will contain a player option.
Wojnarowski reported on Friday night that the Spurs and Phoenix Suns were the front-runners for Aldridge. Aldridge also met with the Los Angeles Lakers twice and the Miami Heat.
According to Wojnarowski, Aldridge told the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night that he was down to the Spurs and Suns. Earlier this week, Portland assistant coach Kim Hughes said that his team had already lost Aldridge.
The 29-year-old averaged 23.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game last season despite playing with a thumb injury in the second half of the season.
Aldridge has spent all nine years of his career with Portland since being drafted as the No. 2 pick in 2006 and being dealt to the Trail Blazers that same night.
The Spurs signedDanny Green to a four-year deal worth $45 million just moments before finalizing a trade with the Atlanta Hawks for center Tiago Splitter.

Soon after his own deal, Green tweeted, "Now all we need is the one last piece and it could get interesting lol...@aldridge_12" before deleting his post.
Aldridge cannot sign the deal until July 9 when the NBA's free-agent moratorium is lifted.
