Former Clippers owner Donald Sterling has filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Shelly.

The couple was about two weeks away from its 60th anniversary. According to multiple reports, Sterling filed the documents in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Nathan Fenno of the Los Angeles Times reports Sterling's filing was rejected Wednesday, due to being incomplete.

Last year, audio of Sterling making racist comments to former companion V. Stiviano in private surfaced, after which two doctors declared him mentally incapacitated. He was removed from the family trust by Shelly Sterling, who then sold the team to Steve Ballmer for $2 billion, a record price, on August 12, 2014.

During July 2014 court proceedings, Donald Sterling called his wife a “pig” after her testimony.
