Peyton Manning couldn't beat the Colts when he went up against his former team for the first time last season in Indianapolis, but he'll get another shot at them in Week 1 as a substantial home favorite.
The Denver Broncos
have crept up to nine-point favorites (at sports books monitored by OddsShark.com
) over the Colts for their matchup on Sunday Night Football. Indianapolis beat Denver 39-33 as a 6.5-point home underdog when the two teams met last October, a game that turned out to be an easy over result for totals bettors.
And while the Broncos are giving up a lot of points Sunday, the biggest favorite on the Week 1 slate is the Philadelphia Eagles -- who are 11.5-point favorites at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Philadelphia has been favored by double-digit points at home four times since 2009 and has failed to cover the spread in any of those contests.
