An exam on Aug. 20 revealed no signs of cancer, but doctors ordered a series of tests to confirm the diagnosis. Biopsies of Kelly's jaw and sinuses "found no evidence [of] cancer cells," according to WGRZ.

Kelly, 54, played for the Bills from 1986 to 1996. He led Buffalo to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990 to 1993, though they lost each time. He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
