Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Thursday that quarterback Drew Stanton will not be able to play in Saturday's Wild Card matchup with the Carolina Panthers, according to Darren Urban of azcardinals.com.

With Stanton out, Ryan Lindleywill start.

"When you get experience in big games, and (Ryan) has been in two big games, it affects how you play," Arians said, according to azcardinals.com. "I think he’s more than ready and I think he’ll play extremely well."

Stanton suffered the knee injury during a Dec. 11 victory over the St. Louis Rams. He became Arizona's starter when Carson Palmer was lost for the season to an ACL tear.

Lindley is 0-2 as a starter this season but had arguably his best game last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, connecting on 59 percent of his passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns.
