Henrik Lundqvist returns from injury to start against Bruins
The New York Rangers announced that goalie Henrik Lundqvist would start Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins.
Lundqvist, 33, had not played since early February while dealing with a sprained blood vessel in his neck.
Lundqvist was struck in the throat with a puck during a game against the Carolina Hurricanes on January 31.
The injury was diagnosed after he remained in that game and started New York's next game against the Florida Panthers.
During Lundqvist's 25-game absence, the Rangers went 18-7. The team clinched a playoff spot earlier this week.
Lundqvist, a three-time All-Star, has allowed an average of 2.25 goals per game and recorded a save percentage of 92.2 this season.
On Saturday, Lundqvist stopped 26 shots but allowed four goals as the Rangers fell, 4-2.
At 47-20-7, the Rangers sit in first place in the Metropolitan division.
