Henrik Lundqvist took a puck to the neck, but remained in the game as the Rangers took on the Hurricanes.

It was a scary scene for the New York Rangers on Saturday night as goalie Henrik Lundqvist appeared to take a puck to the throat on a shot by the Hurricanes' Brad Malone.

It was a fluke play and the timing didn't help. As Malone took the shot, Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh attempted to clear the front of the goal and lifted his stuck into the base of Lundqvist's mask. It was just enough to allow the puck to smack the goalie's throat without any protection from his mask or neck protector.

The goalie fell to the ice in serious pain and remained motionless for several moments while being examined by the trainers. The natural beast that he is, Lundqvist remained in the game.
