NHL Picks & Predictions for Today’s Games on ABC
Before we get into each of our best NHL picks for today, let’s go through some general predictions. The day gets started with three early games, the most notable of which is the Carolina Hurricanes vs. New Jersey Devils. These teams battled for the Metropolitan Division title last year, and we expect another close game today.
After that first cluster of games, the marquee matchup is between the two teams in black and yellow - the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins. With the matchup in Boston and the Pens on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, this is one we see the Bruins taking. Another key matchup for today is the nightcap out in Los Angeles.
That would be the Kings hosting the Dallas Stars, which is a potential playoff preview. Look for a low-scoring game that we wouldn’t be surprised to see go to overtime.

Now, as for the best bets from our NHL predictions for today, we need three picks to hit for a great payout, so let’s break down each one.
Senators vs. Sharks Pick: Ottawa ML (-210) & Over 6.5 Goals (-124 at Caesars)

Blues vs. Rangers Pick: New York -1.5 (+125 at Caesars)
Next up is a much more straightforward pick, which is on the red-hot New York Rangers. After a scorching start followed by a slight skid heading into the All-Star break, they are more than back on track, completely in control of the Metropolitan Division.
The depth of this Rangers team is truly unmatched, as any skater on their top three lines would be among the best players on most other teams, and goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been looking back in form. Furthermore, they’ve been off since Monday, while the Blues are playing in their fourth straight road game since that same Monday.
Therefore, we see a smooth victory for the home team to close out our NHL picks for today with the Rangers -1.5 (+125 at Caesars).
