NHL Picks & Predictions for Today’s Game, 3/16
It’s one thing to have a giant slate of games on the ice, but it’s another to have so many incredible matchups in one day. That is truly no exaggeration. One of the early afternoon games features a Metropolitan Division rivalry game between the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, and that’s just an appetizer.
Just a few hours later, we have arguably four of the five best teams in the Eastern Conference going head-to-head with the Lightning vs. Panthers and Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs. As if those potential conference finals previews weren’t enough, later in the night, we have an absolute juggernaut of a matchup between Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche facing off against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
There is truly no shortage of matchups to enjoy, so let’s get into our best NHL predictions for today.

In fact, one of their trades included sending defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the Rangers, so this will be a revenge game for him. Even without that extra help, New York has dominated Pittsburgh as of late.

They’re also on home ice tonight, which bodes well for Dallas fans; they score the third-most goals per game when in their own arena. Even if that wasn’t the case, like the Rangers against the Penguins, they have owned the Kings as of late. They’ve now won three straight and four of the last five against LA.
Robertson and company aren't just winning those games, either. Those victories have come by final scores of 4-1, 5-1, 4-0 and 5-2.
