Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is day-to-day with a sprained left ankle and is questionable for Monday's game with the San Francisco 49ers, according to the Associated Press.

Roethlisberger left last Thursday's game with the Cleveland Browns in the second quarter, but he returned in the second half. He did not practice Monday, and head coach Mike Tomlin said that he would have to practice this week in order to play Sunday. Tomlin told the AP Tuesday that Roethlisberger has been working "tirelessly" to get healthy enough to play against San Francisco. The Steelers (10-3) are tied atop the NFC North standings with the Baltimore Ravens.
