Report: Kyle Williams Received Death Threats On Twitter Following Crucial Fumble

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kyle Williams received death threats on Twitter following his crucial fumble of a punt late in overtime Sunday night, according to CBSsports.com.

The fumble was recovered by the New York Giants who were able to then kick a short game winning field goal to clinch their second trip to the Super Bowl since 2007.

The Mercury News recorded several tweets by angry fans last night, some of which threatened the life of not only Williams for the on-field mistake, but also his wife and family. “@KyleWilliams_10. I hope you, youre wife, kids and family die, you deserve it,” one tweet read.

The 23-year-old was returning punts in place of injured wide receiver Ted Ginn. During the regular season he returned just two punts for the 49ers.
