Report: Jets Interested In Bringing Back WR Braylon Edwards

The New York Jets are interested in bringing back free agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards, according to the New York Daily News.

“He had two outstanding seasons for us,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said last month. “He was an outstanding blocker.”

Edwards, 29, signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers before the 2011 season.  With the 49ers, Edwards’ playing time was limited due to multiple injuries.  He was then waived before Week 17.  With soon-to-be free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress and the Jets likely to part ways, the club has expressed their interest in replacing him with Edwards.

Despite his off-the-field issues, Edwards was a productive player for the Jets in his two seasons.  In 2010, Edwards led the Jets with 904 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
